Sarah Blake

Co-opted Director

Sarah is a mum of two boys (13 and 9) who both have dyslexia and dysgraphia. Like many parents, her family’s journey began with a late diagnosis for her eldest, which sparked a steep learning curve in understanding how best to support her kids, advocate for their needs, and still find space for self-care.
Alongside her lived experience, Sarah brings nearly 30 years of professional expertise as an award-winning conflict strategist, mediator, author and media commentator. She has advised governments, global organisations and communities across Australia and the Pacific, helping people navigate some of the most complex and challenging conflicts and conversations. With a strong background in not-for-profit governance and business development, Sarah also runs her own consultancy and regularly speaks at national and international events.
Passionate about creating change, Sarah is committed to building connections for Code Read in WA – uniting parents, educators and allies to push for stronger awareness and support for children with dyslexia. She understands the juggle of family, work and advocacy, and is excited to grow the movement together.
