Treasurer - Jen Cross holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting), a Certificate III in Education Support, and is the mother of two children.
Her son was diagnosed with Dyslexia in 2011 which lead to her becoming the founder and administrator of the Community Facebook page Dyslexia Information for the Canberra Region.
In 2012, Jen created and gathered signatures for an A.C.T. Petition for Dyslexia identification and support in A.C.T. schools which was tabled on 21st August 2012.
She was a Parent Representative on the ACT Education Directorate led, Taskforce on Students for Learning Difficulties from 2013 to 2014. Since 2015 Jen has helped to administer the Dyslexia Awareness campaign Light it Red for Dyslexia and assisted with other dyslexia campaigns whilst continuing to provide evidence-based information and support for her local community via the Canberra Facebook page.
In September 2016, Jen was a finalist in the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) Leadership Excellence Awards (ACT) for Community Leader of the Year.
Jen was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in June 2020, for service to children and families impacted by dyslexia.
