Sandra Tidswell is a Sexual Health Nurse practicing in South Australia.
Sandra also has a degree in Health Promotion and is passionate about advocating for healthy public policy and improving the inequities faced by vulnerable populations.
Sandra has 2 children; her youngest being typical of the wait-to-fail model seen too often in schools, and despite concerns being raised from year 1, was ultimately diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia in year 4.
The struggle to gain adequate support within her son's school and having to source evidence based intervention outside of the school was the beginning of Sandra's advocacy around learning difficulties. Sandra is a past co-administrator of the Dyslexia Support South Australia group, is immediate past secretary of Dyslexia SA, and in 2019 co-founded the Dyslexia Community South Australia group.
